Pre-birthday birthday!

Today we headed down to my mums. On the way we picked up a new toaster as ours broke!

We had a great day, cuddles with Tessy the rabbit, and Minka. Mum made chocolate cornflake cakes and chocolate rice krispie cakes instead of a birthday cake. I don't like birthday cake!

It was wonderfully sunny, shame the wind made it cold! Can't wait for Spring!

Tired

Do you ever get times when you can not sleep properly? Since before Christmas, my sleep cycle has really sucked! I struggle to go to sleep before the small hours, even if I am tired. I am exhausted during the day and sometimes fall asleep which really doesn't help I guess.

Lying next to me, the boyfriend is snoring, lightly actually, which makes a change.

Outside I can hear drunk people fighting and stumbling home. At least the shop alarm has stopped!

I can hear the distinct 'clink clank' of high heels trudging down the highstreet now, echoing alone. Any lass walking alone must be nuts!

Anyway, my head hurts, I'm going to get my icepack and some pain killers and try again.

Night x

Today is a sad day :(

The past week has just been a burden of bad news on myself.

First, I finally recieved notice that my university would no longer allow me to continue. This is awful, because the reasons they have used are unbased, and mostly, untrue. :( I am going to appeal, but I am quickly losing energy.

Then, other little things niggle at me, one of my friends has 'gone home' for no apparent reason and told us 'dont worry - Im safe' which has worried us quite a bit :( On top of that, one of my close friends lost her indoor pair of bunnies last night without warning. I panicked, losing one bun suddenly without reason would be suspicious, but both? Something is not right.

Add on top of that, a vet student I know, whos on practice, has just broken her arm, how is she meant to practice on animals now??

I hope this wave of bad luck passes quickly, for this is just too awful :(

Pseudo Valentines day

Today, the bf and I had our Valentines day. I will be at school tomorrow (and hes working during the day) and then we both have a First Aid course in the evening so today was a better time to have it!

This is my third Valentines day with Andy. Last year, we had a take-a-way, the year previous to that, we went out for a meal and dressed up really smart. Oddly enough, we had lamb shank for that meal, which is what we are having tonight!

We woke up this morning, and I gave him a card which has an essay oozing with love ;)

Shortly afterwards, he brought me breakfast in bed!

Breakfast in bed: Pancakes, bacon and maple syrup! With a lilly, bucks fizz and a beaufiul card!
I really loved the Valentines card he got me......

My Valentines day card!
And I got presents too..... Snoopy PJs, a book I have wanted for a while, Aero lambs (Tesco had ran out of Malteaster bunnies!) and a boofle note book. I had some red roses and some wonderful smelling lillies.
Oooh, pressies!

Stunning flowers
Stunning lillies

Shame the weather was so rubbish, we were going to go for a walk but it has rained all day. Instead, we stayed in and watched the rugby. Andy has been making dinner and I prepared for school.
Miserable day outside
Spring is on the way.... you can see the buds on the tree
We had a stunning dinner; a starter of salmon and fresh bread toast for me, and he had french toast with pate. For main, we had slow roasted lamb shanks, boiled veg and roast herb potatoes. It was awesome.
Stunning dinner of lamb, veg and herbie potatoes!
For dessert, we are having Belgian chocolate icecream.... Haagen Dazs.

I have been utterly spoilt this pseudo Valentines day and truely hope you have been too :)

Im really looking forward to going in to school tomorrow. I wont be teaching, but supporting teachers, supporting pupils or groups and just being generally helpful. It will be nice to get out of the house and have a purpose!

Rugby, snuggles and Beanz the hamster.

Well, today was quite a nice day! The weather was delightfully mild and I was fully awake by 9am despite only having slept for 4 hours :-/

When the boyfriend finally woke up, we had breakfast and both prepared to go out to watch rugby with one of our friends that brews beer. He brought a few of his friends, and they brought a few of their friends. Overall, I was the only girl! One of the 'friends of a friend' fell asleep at the table and nearly got kicked out.

The rugby was pretty damn good, England totally beat Italy!

We did not drink while we were out as the man had work this evening. When we returned home, he made dinner, yum! We had jerk chicken and rice with peas. It was a bit dry, but not bad for our first attempt! Afterwards, we snuggled on the sofa, and I fell asleep. I guess the 4 hours of sleep caught up with me!

When the boyfriend went to work, I went and played with the hamster.

Here he is:

Oooh, dinner!!

Thanks for the treat mum! Best go hide it!

Can I hide it here?

Tee hee, you will never find it now ;)

Just have to pull my bum out of this tube!

What a handsome boy!
Oh! Hamster bum! :p

As you can see, Beanz is a sweety! So gentle. Hes very nosy too.... if you call him, he will come out to see what you are talking about! :)

My first blog!

Well, good morning!
I guess I should introduce myself and my furry family.
Firstly, my name is JR and I am currently training to be a teacher. I love nature, photography, talking and furry things. I also love tea, and Malteaster bunnies!
My furry family currently include two house bunnies and a hamster, who currently reside with me, and a jack russell and an outside rabbit, who currently live with my mum while I am at university (I have no garden!).

This is Minka. She is 8 years old this year, and a rescue dog. She loves nothing more than bounding through the woods smelling everything!

This is Tessy, she is the last of my outdoor rabbits, and sadly alone now. She is also 8 (9 this year) and rather grumpy with other buns which is why she is alone.
And these are my indoor babies, Rimmi and Winter. Rimmi is a Netherland dwarf and the blue one on the right, Winter is a chinchilla coloured mixed breed. We got her from Starlights rabbit rescue all the way down in Essex. Rimmi is a cheeky fellow, and Winter is full of joy. They both have my partner and I well trained. 6am most morning, they will bound into the bedroom and dig my feet. I try to ignore them, but usually end up giving them food to leave me alone for another 30 mintutes!! Especially on the weekend!
And Beanz, my little buddy!! I rescued him from a pet shop closing in Ledbury. The owner 'found him upstairs'. When I met him, he was just 2 weeks old and still with his litter mates and mum. They were so tiny and cute! The boyfriend said I was not allowed a hamster, but I brought Beanz home so I could take him into school to help me teach a 'growing' topic to a reception class. Of course, the class loved Beanz. When placement ended, Beanz came home with me. I was not going to take him back to the rescue! Eventually, the boyfriend softened to Beanz, and now can be found playing with him! From 'unwanted rodent' to 'mans best friend' in a couple of months, this hamster oozes charm!
